GreenScene Garden Centre is a family run business, established 43 years ago, in 1981, as a landscaping and planting business in Handsworth. To fund the business startup, Alan sold his prize Moto Guzzi, to buy a bright orange VW pick up truck and rotorvator, and off he went.
The business worked with wide range of house builders to provide the landscape and show gardens for the properties. The family then moved to our current premises in 1986 at GreenScene Side Farm, Todwick.
With only a pea field, 1 barn and an 8ft x 12ft greenhouse , Jean and Alan, (Mum and Dad) started selling eggs and potatoes from the farm entrance. It so happened that several of the customers asked about buying some of the landscaping plants that were in the yard, and thus GreenScene Garden Centre was born.
The business has grown and expanded over the years, with all the family having an active role in driving the business forwards. In 2018, I (Justin), the current owner, bought the business and with a lot of hard work and commitment, has continued to expand GreenScene. Fast forward to today, the Garden Centre offers customers a wide range of plants and trees, a great cafe, restaurant and bar (in the GreenBean Bistro), a Studio which can be hired out for events and the GreenScene Living shop, selling a wide range of homeware, gifts and accessories. We are also proud to support a further 11 local independent businesses, who are also based at the GreenScene Garden Centre.
We look forward to continue serving our local community into the future and beyond, and hope to see you all here soon!

Our resident macaw, Jaffa, is much loved by family, children and customers.
At around 55 years old, Jaffa is a big nut lover and will squawk with delight when given fresh fruit (especially strawberries!)
